Why furniture delivery tipping is different
Furniture delivery often involves carrying bulky pieces through doorways, protecting floors and walls, climbing stairs and assembling items. This calculator therefore uses delivery effort and crew size instead of reusing a restaurant or food-delivery percentage formula.
Per mover versus total tip
The effort result is built per mover and then multiplied by crew size. A percentage result is shown separately because expensive furniture does not always mean a harder delivery. Entering a custom total overrides the recommendation while preserving the per-person split.
Should I tip when delivery is already expensive?
That is a personal decision. A delivery fee may not be distributed to the crew; ask the retailer when this matters to you.
