AP Physics 2 Practice Test 2027: 5 Full Model Exams
Use these five original model exams for full-course simulation after topic-level repair. Each paper contains 42 mixed MCQs for an 85-minute Section I and four multipart FRQs for a 95-minute Section II, with answer explanations, scoring evidence and unit diagnostics.
Full exams are for transfer and pacing—not first exposure
Use topic banks when you know the weak concept. Use model exams when the unit label is removed and you must identify the governing model yourself.
42 mixed MCQs + four FRQ modes per paper, with section timing, scoring and diagnostics.

Open topic FRQs →Choose one exam and keep the solutions closed until scoring
The question contexts and topic sequence change from paper to paper. Each paper uses a balanced seven-unit blueprint inside the course weighting ranges.
How each 42-question MCQ paper is distributed
Units 9–11 receive seven questions each. Units 12–15 receive five or six each; the six-question slot rotates across papers so no one lower-weight unit dominates every exam.
| Unit | Questions per model | Approx. share | Course weighting range |
|---|---|---|---|
| 9 · Thermodynamics | 7 | 16.7% | 15–18% |
| 10 · Electric Force, Field, and Potential | 7 | 16.7% | 15–18% |
| 11 · Electric Circuits | 7 | 16.7% | 15–18% |
| 12 · Magnetism and Electromagnetism | 5–6 | 11.9–14.3% | 12–15% |
| 13 · Geometric Optics | 5–6 | 11.9–14.3% | 12–15% |
| 14 · Waves, Sound, and Physical Optics | 5–6 | 11.9–14.3% | 12–15% |
| 15 · Modern Physics | 5–6 | 11.9–14.3% | 12–15% |
These model exams are independent practice forecasts. They are designed from the current course structure, timing and weighting ranges; they are not leaked questions and should be used to test model selection, representation translation, experimental reasoning and pacing.
The exam workspace will load here with a timer, answer tracker, flag-for-review controls, unit diagnostics, four multipart FRQs and scoring evidence.
Use the diagnostic instead of immediately taking another exam
A full simulation is valuable only if the result changes what you study next.
Separate content from pacing
Mark whether each miss came from the physics model, representation, algebra/units, evidence, or time pressure.
Repair the weakest unit
Use its exact topic banks before returning to another mixed paper.
Self-grade FRQ evidence
Check model choice, diagrams/graphs, symbolic reasoning, units and explicit justification.
Retest on a different paper
Transfer—not memorization—is the evidence that the repair worked.
AP Physics 2 practice-test questions
How many full AP Physics 2 practice tests are here?
Five complete original model exams are included, each with 42 MCQs and four FRQs.
Should I take a full test before studying every topic?
Use one as a diagnostic if useful, but targeted topic repair is usually more efficient than repeatedly taking full tests while the same weakness remains.
Do the papers include all seven units?
Yes. Every model exam mixes Units 9–15 using a balanced weighting blueprint.
Are the answer explanations visible during the timed attempt?
No. The exam workspace keeps correctness and explanations hidden until you submit Section I.
Can I print the model exam?
Yes. After loading a paper, use the Print / Save PDF control in the model-exam toolbar.
What should I do after scoring?
Use the unit diagnostic to repair the weakest model or skill, then retest on another paper rather than repeating the same exam immediately.
