What time is 8 hours after 10 AM?
Eight continuous hours after 10:00 AM is 6:00 PM on the same day. The calculator also handles additions that cross midnight or continue only during selected work hours.
Elapsed time versus working time
Elapsed time counts every minute. Working time pauses outside the chosen workday, optionally skips weekends, and pauses only during the entered break interval when that interval is actually crossed.

Does the calculator store dates or times?
No. The calculation runs in the browser and the plugin does not save visitor-entered values.
Time addition, subtraction and working-hours planning
The time calculator handles simple questions such as “what is 8 hours after 10 AM?” and longer schedules that cross midnight, continue into another date or count only eligible working time. It displays the final result in both 12-hour and 24-hour notation so users do not have to perform a separate military-time conversion.
Continuous elapsed time
Continuous mode counts every second between the starting point and the answer. It is appropriate for travel duration, medication reminders, countdowns, event timing and ordinary before-or-after questions. Adding 8 hours to 10:00 AM returns 6:00 PM on the same date. Adding 16 hours would cross midnight and return 2:00 AM on the next date.
Working-time mode
Working-time mode advances only inside the entered daily work window. It can skip Saturdays and Sundays and pause during a scheduled break with explicit start and end times. A break is not deducted when the calculation starts after it or finishes before it. This is useful for estimating a completion time from a number of labor hours, but it is not a payroll system and does not automatically know public holidays, local labor rules or an employer’s custom calendar.
Before and after calculations
Select “After / add” to move forward or “Before / subtract” to move backward. The calculation uses the chosen start date and time, so the answer correctly reports whether it remains on the same day, moves to tomorrow or reaches an earlier date.

Time-zone limitation
The entered date and time are calculated in the browser as a local civil time. The tool does not convert between named time zones and does not invent daylight-saving transitions for another location. For a time-zone conversion, the user should first convert the starting point to the intended local time, then add or subtract the duration.
Does 12:00 AM mean midnight?
Yes. 12:00 AM is midnight and 12:00 PM is noon. The 24-hour display removes this ambiguity by showing 00:00 and 12:00.
Can the result include seconds?
Yes. Enter seconds in the duration and enable seconds in the starting time field when precise timing is required.
