Salary conversion and annualization guide

This salary calculator provides a dedicated calculation workflow rather than a generic converter. Pay-frequency conversion is only accurate when the schedule assumptions match the job. This calculator keeps the underlying work hours and paid weeks visible.

Hourly to annual salary

Base annual pay equals hourly rate × regular hours per week × paid weeks per year. Overtime is calculated from the base hourly rate, weekly overtime hours and selected multiplier.

Daily, weekly and periodic pay

Daily pay is multiplied by workdays and paid weeks. Weekly and biweekly pay use paid weeks directly. Semimonthly pay uses 24 periods per year, while monthly pay uses 12.

Annual bonus treatment

Bonus and other annual gross pay are added after base and overtime calculations. Equivalent monthly and weekly amounts therefore represent total annual compensation spread across the selected periods.

Unpaid time and paid weeks

A worker with unpaid weeks should lower paid weeks per year rather than pretending every calendar week is paid. The equivalent hourly rate is based on paid regular hours only.

Gross pay is not take-home pay

The result does not estimate federal, state or local taxes, benefits, retirement contributions or deductions. Those depend on location and personal payroll settings.

Why are semimonthly and biweekly pay different?

Semimonthly means 24 payments per year, while biweekly usually means 26 payments per year.

Does overtime change the base hourly rate?

No. Overtime is added as a separate component using the chosen multiplier.

Can this calculate take-home pay?

No. It converts gross pay frequencies and does not estimate taxes or deductions.
