Build the Exact Bed Height from Floor to Sleep Surface
Add frame, slat, foundation, mattress, topper and riser heights, then compare the finished sleep surface with knee height and under-bed clearance. A reverse mode finds the missing riser or mattress thickness needed to reach a target.

How the bed height calculator works
Finished bed height is the sum of every vertical layer between the floor and the top sleeping surface. The calculator keeps frame height separate from the slat or deck thickness because manufacturers often quote one while omitting the other. Under-bed clearance is measured to the lowest obstruction rather than to the top of the frame.
Bed height versus knee height
A sleep surface near seated knee height is commonly easier to enter and leave than a surface far below or above it, but there is no universal ideal. The result reports the difference so you can compare furniture dimensions before buying a mattress, foundation or riser.
Does mattress compression change the result?
Yes. Listed mattress thickness is normally uncompressed. A softer mattress may place the seated surface lower when occupied.
Can I find the riser height needed?
Choose the target-riser mode. The calculator subtracts all other layers from the target and reports the required nonnegative riser height.
