Date arithmetic and edge cases
All calculations use calendar dates rather than dividing days by 365.25. That correctly handles leap years and birthdays exactly on the cutoff. The form rejects a birth date after the cutoff, impossible dates and unreasonable season years. No time-of-day or local time-zone conversion is used, preventing the date from shifting in the browser.
Using the official age chart
